To be considered for DSTI’s Applied MSc courses, applicants need to fulfil the following requirements:
Applicants should have studied Advanced Mathematics in high school or beyond or have an equivalent qualification.
Candidates must have completed a 3 or 4-year Bachelor degree or equivalent from a recognised university. Studying Mathematics while pursuing Bachelor’s will be beneficial for the applicants.
DSTI offers three options to prove prospective students their academic qualifications. Submitting proofs of more than one qualification mentioned below will boost the chances of admission.
The candidate must have at least the following grade or equivalent grade to be considered for the Applied MSc programme.
USA – GPA 2.0; Germany – 3.5; France – 12; UK – 2:2 (2nd Class Lower Division); India – CGPA 6.5 or Upper second class; China – 67%
Applicants from other countries can submit their transcripts and DSTI can determine the degree and grade equivalency. Also, students with transcripts in languages other than French or English must translate them into French or English through official translation services in their countries. We recommend translation services by Alliance Française and British Council.
A second option, if your scores don’t meet the above criteria, is to submit scores from standardised tests such as the GRE or GMAT. Submitting these scores can strengthen your application and increase your chances of admission.
For the GRE, aim for at least 155 in the quantitative section and an overall score around 300. For the GMAT, aim for a minimum score of 42, with an overall score close to 600.
Although there are other components to GRE and GMAT, we value the quantitative component and overall scores.
If the above two criteria can’t be met, consider taking the online DSTI Entry Exam from home, all you need is a stable internet connection and a computer.
The exam has two sections: Mathematics and IT, each with 30 questions. Correct answers gain +1 mark, while incorrect answers result in -1 mark. If unsure, opt for ‘I don’t know’ to avoid losing points.
The mathematics section tests Applied Mathematics, Probabilities, and Statistics, while the IT section covers Algorithmics, Software Engineering and Architecture, and Operating Systems & Networking.
Note: If you’re currently completing your Bachelor’s degree or expecting to receive it soon, you must provide your Bachelor’s Degree Certificate before commencing classes. DSTI may request further documents from students if necessary.
As all courses are delivered in English, students should possess at least a B2 level of English proficiency. DSTI will evaluate this during the Admission Interview. To strengthen their application, students may provide their IELTS or TOEFL scores.
Students at DSTI should have a Windows PC laptop, not Apple Mac, with these minimum specs:
At least Intel Core i5 (or AMD equivalent)
Minimum 8GB, but 16GB recommended
Minimum 512GB, 1TB recommended. SSD preferred, but a dual-drive system with 128GB/256GB SSD + 512GB or 1TB magnetic drive is a good alternative. If only magnetic, it must be at least 7200rpm, not 5400rpm.
NVIDIA preferred, but not essential
Any Windows version. DSTI will provide a Windows 10 Professional key when classes start.
Don’t purchase MS Office 365; DSTI will provide a license key when classes start.
The admission procedure for the Data ScienceTech Institute (DSTI) is a thorough process that provides a fair chance to all eligible candidates.

The application process is conducted online, where we will assess your eligibility. You'll need to upload standard registration documents: proof of identity, a CV, and a cover letter.
After the first look at your application, DSTI will call you for the next steps. You'll need to provide the documents specified in either of the first two choices. If these aren't available, you can go for option three.
Email us copies of your transcripts and degree certificate. If needed, DSTI might ask to check your original documents. As previously mentioned, if we’re unsure about your bachelor’s level, we might invite you to take standardised tests or our online entrance exam.
In order to expedite the process, you may share the scanned score sheets of the GRE or GMAT.

In the absence of the first two options, DSTI will ask you to appear for Online Entrance Exam. A detailed description of the test is given in the eligibility criteria.
If your application is successful, you will be invited to attend an admission interview which will last approximately 20 minutes. During the interview, you will be asked questions to confirm your interest, course suitability and English proficiency.
Upon completion of the admission process, you will be notified of your official admission decision, which may result in one of three outcomes:
This outcome is for students who have met all admission criteria without any issues.
Conditional admission is for students who may not meet one admission criteria but are given extra time by the institute to enhance a specific skill or submit required paperwork.
DSTI may reject an application if it doesn’t meet the cohort’s admission criteria. This is not personal bias. Students are encouraged to reapply after enhancing their profile.

With Continuing Education SPOC mode, you can complete your Applied MSc in 15 to 36 months using a combination of live or self-paced online study. As the Applied MSc courses are entirely online in this mode, you won’t need to apply for a visa.

The CPF replaced the individual right to training (Dif). CPF can be used throughout your working life (including in periods of unemployment) to follow qualifying or certifying training.
