Hanna Abi Akl (Lebanon)
Applied MSc in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence – Paris Campus
This year I had the chance to study at Data ScienceTech Institute and be part of a life-changing experience. Having graduated as a software engineer and worked 3 years in the industry in Lebanon, DSTI gave me the chance to experience life in a new country. As for the program itself, it has the right amount of pace and intensity, balancing theoretical foundational core courses that ground students with essential concepts as well as practical project-based courses that offer a hands-on approach to the fields of Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.
On the other hand, studying at DSTI gave me the unique chance to meet exceptional people – from the staff to the professors to the students of the cohort. Th school board and its professors are welcoming, engaging, nurturing and encouraging. They understand that the field of Data Science attracts apprentices of different skills and backgrounds, and they approach teaching it from that point of view. I was fortunate enough to sit in a classroom with some of the greatest minds in the fields of statistics, mathematics and computer science and watch them share their knowledge with us through different methods.
Also, being a writer, I take special interest in language and culture. I was able to grow these two pillars by meeting and becoming close with the students – each coming from a different place and bringing a unique taste to their cultures and habits. The hours shared together – both inside and outside the classroom – brought us closer and helped us forge strong bonds we will carry with us for the rest of our lives.
DSTI is not just a school – it is a community that brings together people who are eager to learn and grow. It is a place where knowledge is nurtured and spread, resources are made available to support the interactive learning, and the student life is complimented with fun activities and events.
I would’ve never thought pursuing my education in Data Science & Artificial Intelligence would be as exhilarating, fun and life-changing as it was at DSTI.
